Time change, daylight, warmth, and buds
From "Faith and Fresh Perspectives: Celebrating Faith & Spirituality during the Spring Season"
Go to the project
As much as the time change puts me off kilter for a good week or so nowadays, I love the extra daylight. The odd double digit temperatures send my mood sky high, and make the minus temperatures easier to take. And during COVID, I finally had time/opportunity to experience spring and everything coming to life. It is something that I will never take for granted again. To me it seems like it happens overnight - one day it's dull and dreary, the next it's green everywhere. All of these things lift my spirits tremendously.

Indeed, I try not to take things for granted such as the gifts of Spring. I do this by the practice of gratitude. I feel like without the intentionality and mindfulness piece that it becomes all too easy in a the hustle and bustle to get "caught up" in other things and then these beautiful gifts just slip by. I am so excited by all of the plant-life that will be showing off its greenery and other stunning colours and am just itching to take some photos of it all.

Donna, I couldn't agree more! Especially this year, the winter has felt VERY LONG, and I am particularly looking forward to the feel of the warm sun bringing things back to life ... although it's hard to imagine how the events of the last few days are going to impact what spring looks like this year :-(
I also have neighbours who invest a lot of time and thought into their gardens, and I am eager to see how those flowers will spruce up our neighbourhood .. a reminder of hope and possibility!

I'm also very grateful for our four-day Easter weekend—so few people have this gift of time, and most are required to work on Easter Monday.
